We have arrived at Grande Prairie

An early wake up was on the cards to leave Barrhead so that we could be driven the 4 and a half hours to Grande Prairie before presenting to the lunch time meeting of the Rotary Club of Swan City. Thanks so much to all our hosts and drivers in Barrhead for welcoming us into your community. It was an experience we will never forget.

Upon meeting at Rotary Park, we found a limosine which was an added bonus to take us to the half way point at Fox River.

At Fox River we met our drivers Mark and Luke from the Rotary Club of Swan City, and presented to the club meeting at lunch time. We raised over $700 towards the victims of the forest fires at Slave Lake near Athabasca by auctioning off an Australian GSE scarf and GSE tie. We will be putting a challenge out soon to our District 9650 Rotary clubs back in Australia to help us raise more funds for this worthy cause.

After meeting with each of our new hosts in the afternoon, we were treated to a fabulous barbecue at past president Harry Sandhu's house. The fire pit was popular on a chilly afternoon!
