This morning we visited the Hutterite Colony outside of Camrose. The Hutterites live as far as possible in a self sufficient way, by farming cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and chickens, as well as growing wheat, barley, canola, and vegetables. They build their own buildings and make their own furniture and leather goods. There is about 120 people in the community in about 26 families in a centralised living area, and they do use technology to ensure that their community is sustainable and profitable. It was fascinating to see how much work this community did by themselves.
No photos at the request of the community.
