With such long days in Northern Alberta, we were convinced by our hosts to go on a quad biking trek after our vocational day. (OK - it didn't require much convincing!)
We assembled at Mark Marcotte's house to assemble a fleet of quad bikes and proceeded down to the Wapiti River via a long and interesting route.
It didn't take Em long to bog her quad and then take out a barbed wire fence. After navigating several boggy tracks and steep slopes down to the river, and rounding up the stragglers, we lit a fire, tried some buffalo jerky and then cooked hot dogs and marshmallows on an open fire, washing it all down with a few Canadian beers.
With the sun setting about 11pm, we needed lights to get up from the river bank and home, but everyone made it back safely and very muddy!
